Memorial Restoration

Following the removal of a memorial to allow for an interment to take place, we will provide you with a written estimate of the costs to re-fix it with a new inscription in memory of the person interred. This is usually sent to you a month or so after the funeral but if you require it sooner, please let us know. It will be necessary to apply to the relevant authority for permission to re-fix the memorial but we will deal with this and pay the fees due to them on your behalf.

We also offer a restoration service for memorials which have become aged or weather-worn. We can professionally clean the stone and where necessary, re-gild, re-paint or re-lead the inscription restoring it as near as possible to its original condition.

If a headstone has become unstable and is causing concern, it may be necessary to re-fix it. We usually recommend removing the stone and re-fixing it using a new base and anchor system for security.

Written quotations are available on request following an on-site inspection of the memorial by our Monumental Mason.
